SA's Chief Bully threatens to bring down Twitter Empire

Think David and Goliath. Except David was clever! By Daniel Howden, Africa correspondentA score of new Twitter accounts lampooning Julius Malema are popping up online after the leader of the youth league of South Africa's ruling ANC called for the micro-blogging service to be closed. The serial controversialist complained this week that he was being targeted by Twitter impersonators who were distorting his image. The ANC youth league issued a grammatically bizarre statement calling for the "closer" of Twitter on Wednesday, which was quickly filleted by critics who then distributed it online. The league's notoriously bad spelling led one reporter Malema had called "bloody bastard" at a news conference, to reply on the blogging site: "ANCYL statement called for 'closer of Twitter' following 'cretation' of fake accounts. Was that so we'd know it was the real Malema?" Fake accounts of famous people offering phoney Tweets known as "Phweets" have become a mainstay of Twitter, prompting the blogging service to offer the option of officially verifying who's who. But the sensitive ANCYL launched a tirade signed by the league's spokesman Floyd Shuvambu. Floyd the Maverick lashed out at all the online Juju-haters. "There are computer hackers who have created twitter accounts in the name of the President [the prince-ling not HRH Msholozi] and recurrently posting misleading messages [sic]." "The ANCYL has in [sic] more than one occasion reported these impersonators and hackers, yet no action has been taken against them by the Twitter administrators. [What? Bloody agents!] We will now approach the relevant authorities to report these hackers and call for the closer [Closure, perhaps? Or do you really want Twitter closer?] of Twitter, if its administrators are not able to administer reports for violation of basic human rights and integrity." Ah yes, because it worked so well when you tried to shut down Nando's. And Nedbank. And "the cockroach" Zille. The mockery that followed online prompted @Floyd_Shivambu's to tweet back: "Stop mocking my spelling. When we close Twitter you won't be laughing anymore." This was replied to by @TheJuliusMalema, who tweeted: "Don't you come heer to my internet with your white tendencies." After which Mr Shivambu replied: "I will tell our President it is worse than we thought." "We'll trace them… that is very possible to do," said the guy who couldn't seem to understand that an email address is all it takes to set up a Twitter account. "We don't want to expose our strategy on how we will get them [largely because we haven't figured it out yet]. But we will get them and we are going to report them to the police."Ah, yes, because that worked so well with PigSpotter. Of course, a little tongue-lashing never did deter the kiddies club. Their retort on discovering that angry threats were followed by even more online mocking was… well… predictable. Followed by the obligatory racism: "We are sure, when they get exposed, you will see it is white people. Reactionary, rightwing, white people." Floyd sees white people. It's a sixth sense. It goes without saying that they are all rightwing racists. Unfortunately it prevents him from seeing blacks also use computers and laugh at antics of bumbling idiots. By yesterday, new Malema accounts were flourishing online. "Juju Malema" was fairly typical of the tone, introducing its author by asking: "Who do you think you are? Are you not aware that I am Julius, the president of the ANC Youth League? I know some of you hate me." Malema's abrasive manner and brash lifestyle –his luxury cars and exclusive night-clubbing are routinely dismissed as evidence of continuing racism – has made him a hero to some in South Africa and a jester to many. Press freedom is under serious attack in the Rainbow Nation. Two major pieces of legislation are being considered which would give the government sweeping powers to silence outlets it does not like and criminalise much investigative journalism. Malema's political importance has been underlined recently as the leadership backed down over its effort to discipline him for publicly contradicting party positions. Zuma faces a possible leadership challenge in the next year and seems unwilling to offend the youth wing or its outspoken leader. The fake tweets @Julius_Malema Not doing anything today because I am still babalaas. Eish. @Julius_Malema @Floyd_Shivambu we need to change the words to "shoot the tweeter" in our favourite song! @JMalema_TWIT_iR Zuma want me to go to political school, mmm let me think NO I hate doing wood work!!Source - www.independent.co.uk/ http://news.iafrica.com/

Cops nepotism exposé - the news that didn't make the news

Cops put lid on nepotism What we are not able to tell you this weekend, dear reader, is that nnnnnnn were employed in an irregular process that nnnnnnn because nnnnnnn manipulated it. Nepotism sweeping the police force The Sunday Independent was meant to publish an article about nepotism within the police ranks but a court interdict on Friday night stopped the story from going public. The court has also ordered the newspaper to hand in documents relating to the issue. The SAPS resorted to a discredited and “unconstitutional” piece of legislation in a desperate bid to muzzle The Sunday Independent. The police were granted an order interdicting this newspaper from publishing details of malfeasance and violation of laws by the SAPS Crime Intelligence – without argument – at the North Gauteng High Court on Friday night. The Sunday Independent has taken a decision to challenge this order every step of the way. The interdict application was brought by lawyers for Police Minister Nathi Mthethwa, National Commissioner Bheki Cele and Head of Crime Intelligence Richard Mdluli, late on Friday night and was summarily granted which did not wait for the newspaper’s lawyers before starting proceedings. The order prevents Independent Newspapers and in particular Sunday Independent journalist Gcwalisile Khanyile from publishing any information about the police’s Crime Intelligence Unit. The Sunday Independent had planned to do a series of exposes on appointments within the Crime Intelligence Unit based on reliable information she had received from various sources. The gagging order prohibits this newspaper from publishing any details on advertisements and appointments made in the unit. The newspaper has been ordered to hand documents to police and is interdicted against writing further articles about the division – particularly covert appointments processes and whether or not they had been manipulated. But the order does not stop us from finding out what the police are doing to root out nepotism within their ranks. National Police spokesman Colonel Lindela Mashigo said the order was necessary to protect the safety of operatives. “In the environment that we are talking about (crime intelligence), it is not necessary to be in public.” Mashigo was initially vague in his explanation. He said police would take “internal measures” and when pressed for clarity said allegations against Mdluli would be given “the necessary attention”. When asked why he was being vague, Mashigo said: “Yes, we will remain vague until a decision is taken. At this point it remains an internal matter.” Mashigo asked for further questions to be sent by email, for fear of being misquoted. The Sunday Independent asked whether the police do not believe that the public has a right to know when nepotism or corruption takes place in units meant protect them. Mashigo responded: “SAPS is not pro-corruption.” He added that police would “act against irregular conduct, beyond this we are not ready to comment”. According to the Parliamentary Monitoring Group, Advocate Premjith Supersad of the State Security Agency told the ad hoc committee on the Protection of Information Bill in May that parts of the Protection of Information Act (84) of 1982 were “outdated and unconstitutional” and “unenforceable”. The police have defended the decision to interdict The Sunday Independent using this act, saying “the police are obliged to enforce the laws of our country for as long as they are valid”. The Sunday Independent editor Makhudu Sefara said resorting to this legislation showed the level of desperation to keep a lid on the rot. “If they said our claims were false and baseless perhaps they would have a point. But what they are saying is that even when we report the truth about the rot, they will use discredited legislation against us to keep their wrongs from the glare of the public. It is wrong, it is shameless and we will pursue this matter to its logical conclusion,” said Sefara. He added that the order granted by Judge Ephraim Makgoba was too broad and too limiting. “What the police effectively, though temporarily, did was to keep us at bay with the hope that nobody reports on the spectre of nepotism sweeping the police force. This will not last.” Sefara said he would meet with lawyers early next week to discuss where and when to launch an appeal against the order. Media bodies have questioned the granting of the order. In a statement released yesterday, South African National Editors Forum said it was “disconcerting” that there “appears to have been an element of miscommunication between the lawyers representing the parties which resulted in the paper’s lawyers having to travel to Pretoria after the police lawyers had arrived at court. The paper’s lawyers arrived five minutes after the judge had made his ruling.” National Press Council chair Yusuf Abramjee, who was at court on Friday evening, said the decision raised questions about the justice system. “We believe the story is of public interest. It’s about a very important department.” Abramjee added: “This application puts the police in a very bad light. Police leadership should have known better. We need to ask the question, ‘What do the police have to hide?’ “ - Sunday Independent - http://www.iol.co.za/

Microsoft undermines Boer Genocide awareness

Nonetheless, this action is undermining efforts to bring awareness to the world of the genocide occuring right now against the White people of South Africa. Microsoft has now shown their views on what they think of the South African situation. See GENOCIDE on Whites in South Africa -http://censorbugbear-reports.blogspot.com/ See Farm Murders - [Pics] Gore: Very gruesome: Farm Murders in South Africa (from 1994-2007) November 1 2009 – Adriana Stuijt Censorbugbear-Reports.blogspot.com/ has received the following warning from Microsoft Windows Sky-Drive -- which publishes our photo-albums, that our images on the album ‘Afrikaners Face Genocide in South Africa’ contain ‘nude scenes’ including of babies and thus must be removed – or we will lose all our publication rights on their internet domains. The images they referred to were various SAPS forensic photographs which show the horrendous injuries with which Afrikaner and Boer women, men and children are being murdered in such ferocious violence in South Africa at the moment. These photographs illustrate that these murders are fuelled by pure hatred, as the numerous stab-wounds and horrendous mutilations on these photographs illustrate. We have of course already removed these images because of this censorship by Windows Sky-Drive. And thus we have also had to censor these images which illustrate the truth of this genocide, from becoming known. Similar censorship of the truth, in fact to the way in which the US government recently decided to remove all references to the Nazi holocaust of the Jews of Europe from their school curriculum…
-------------------------

Microsoft Windows Sky-Drive’s faceless, nameless individuals wrote:
“We have found images involving partial nudity on your SkyDrive account, Afrikaners face genocide in South Africa. Kindly remove this content and any other images, messages or files that violate the Windows Live SkyDrive Code of conduct within 120 hours.

Violations include, but are not limited to, nudity, partial nudity, pornography, harassment, and illegal or offensive behavior. For a complete description of content that is not allowed on Windows Live SkyDrive, please visit our Code of Conduct at: - http://help.live.com/help.aspx?mkt=en-us&proj...

We also restrict our users from posting full or partial nude pictures of babies and children. This policy has been implemented in order to reduce the risks of predators in the online community and of course to ensure the safety of the children. If your SkyDrive account contains any material of this nature, please remove them as well. If you remove all violating content, your SkyDrive account will again be in accordance with the Windows Live SkyDrive Code of Conduct, and will remain accessible for your use. Otherwise, we will be forced to close down your SkyDrive as well as any associated Spaces and Profile accounts. Again, while this is never an option we like to take, Microsoft takes the safety of children quite seriously.

You may delete files from your SkyDrive account by following these instructions: 1. Log into SkyDrive 2. Navigate to the 'Shared' or 'Public' folder that contains the offending file 3. Select the file to be removed by clicking the file 4. Click 'Delete' 5. Click 'OK' to permanently delete the file

Thank you for helping Windows Live SkyDrive provide a friendly and safe experience for all of our customers. Sincerely, Support Specialist Windows Live Support Team email: WEBCS.SKYD.00.00.EN.SYK.MNL.AU.T01.PAC.00.EM@css.one.microsoft.com Adriana Stuijt's comment to Microsoft Windows Sky-Drive: November 1 2009 – 10:10: “We have now removed those pictures referred to below from the said album. However we must point out that these are FORENSIC photographs from the South African Police Service records - and are published to illustrate the ferocity with which members of a specific minority group in South Africa is being targetted. Forensic experts believe that these images illustrate that these murderers of babies, women and men are motivated not by mere crime, but by hatred - and these photographs illustrate that fact.

These are similar to the photographs showing piles of nude bodies from the Nazi holocaust which can also be seen on countless of your albums - but clearly are not deemed pornographic...

International genocide experts such as Dr Gregory Stanton of the UN-organisation Genocide Watch have also pointed out in TV-interviews that this small South African minority group is indeed being targetted by 'genocidal violence' and that such injuries - mutilations, extensive and repeated injuries - all indicate the genocidal intent of the perpetrators rather than mere 'crime-of-greed motivation'. Nude photographs of murdered babies: As a matter of fact those 'nude photographs of babies' you referred to, were the SAPS forensics photographs of two infants who were murdered in the most horrendous way: one girl was wrapped live in newspapers and set alight; the second child showed injuries in the photograph which were consistent with her being grabbed by the feet, and swung against a wall, after which she was strangled. I of course have removed the photographs at once - but also register my objection to your censorship of these horrendous events and can only presume that you must be supportive of the government which allows these atrocities to continue without intervening in them.

Yours sincerely Adriana Stuijt, retired South African journalist Dokkum, The Netherlands.

Source Url: http://censorbugbear-reports.blogspot.com/2009/11/are-forensic-photographs-of-genocide_01.html
