ATM attacks have rocketed in the past few years.
In 2005 the country saw just 12 bombings, which grew to 54 the following year.
In 2007 the attacks spiked sharply to 386, and there are likely to be more than 500 in 2008. By June 2008 there had been more than 250 bombings.
ATM bombings have increased by 3000% over the past three years.
Explosives stolen from gold mines are been sold on the black market.
About 292 ATM's have been blown up across the country so far this year with 12 cases reported during this week.
