Only God will remove me, says Mugabe

ZIMBABWE's President Robert Mugabe said today "only God" could remove him from office, in comments ahead of next week's presidential runoff election.

"The MDC will never be allowed to rule this country - never ever," President Mugabe said in a meeting with local business people.

"Only God who appointed me will remove me, not the MDC, not the British."

President Mugabe has ruled since independence from Britain in 1980 and has frequently accused his presidential runoff opponent Morgan Tsvangirai of being a stooge of the former colonial power.

Later addressing a rally in Zimbabwe's second largest city of Bulawayo, President Mugabe said: "We will never allow an event like an election reverse our independence, our sovereignty, our sweat and all that we fought for ... all that our comrades died fighting for.

"The MDC should not tempt us to go back to war by promising to reverse our land reform program."

He threatened to "deal with business people who are part of the regime-change agenda after the elections".

President Mugabe embarked on a chaotic land reform program at the turn of the decade which saw about 4000 white-owned farms expropriated by the state.

He earlier warned in comments published in state media that he will not leave power until land is returned to the majority black population.

Critics put much of the blame for the country's economic crisis on Mugabe's land reform program. They argue that it saw some of the country's most productive farms handed to people with no previous farming experience.

Once seen as a potential regional breadbasket, Zimbabwe's now has an economy in freefall with the world's highest inflation rate and major food shortages.

Zuma’s God talk condemned

ANC president Jacob Zuma has invoked the wrath of political opponents for claiming God’s backing for eternal ANC rule.

In his most recent utterances during a party rally in Khayelitsha on Sunday, Zuma said: “Even God expects us to rule this country because we are the only organization which was blessed by pastors when it was formed. It is even blessed in heaven. That is why we will rule until Jesus comes back."

Zuma first made the claim that the African National Congress would rule “until Jesus comes back” during the 2004 election.

Last October he repeated it, saying: “We believe it (the ANC) will be in power forever until the Son of Man comes back.”

A fuming president of the African Christian Democratic Party (ACDP) Kenneth Meshoe said yesterday: “The ANC president Jacob Zuma will see with his own eyes what is happening to Zanu-PF will happen to the ANC.

“His statements are arrogance of the worst kind. God it not pleased with ANC immorality that kills thousands of babies through abortion (and) that generally disregards God’s laws.

“Anybody who’s rebellious must read the Bible. God blesses obedience not rebellion, as displayed by the ANC. The ANC Titanic is going to sink. Its call for unity will not materialise, as the cracks and divisions are going to increase.

“Zuma (will) one day ask me to pray for him when the ANC Titanic sinks forever.”

God will not be mocked… here may be some proof

It is written in the Bible (Galatians 6:7): “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man sows, that shall he also reap.”

Here are some men and women who mocked God:

John Lennon (Singer with The Beatles): Some years before, during his interview with an American Magazine, he said: “Christianity will end, it will disappear. I do not have to argue about that. I am certain. Jesus was ok, but his subjects were too simple. Today we are more famous than Him” (1966). Lennon, after saying that the Beatles were more famous than Jesus Christ, was shot six times.

Tancredo Neves (President of Brazil): During the Presidential campaign, he said if he got 500,000 votes from his party, not even God would remove him from Presidency. Sure he got the votes, but he got sick a day before being made President, then he died.

Cazuza (Bi-sexual Brazilian composer, singer and poet): During A show in Canecio (Rio de Janeiro), whilst smoking his cigarette, he puffed out some smoke into the air and said: “God, that’s for you.” He died at the age of 32 of AIDS in a horrible manner.

The man who built the Titanic: After the construction of Titanic, a reporter asked him how safe the Titanic would be. With an ironic tone he said: “Not even God can sink it.” The result? I think you all know what happened to the Titanic.

Marilyn Monroe (Actress): She was visited by Billy Graham during a presentation of a show. He said the Spirit of God had sent him to preach to her. After hearing what the Preacher had to say, she said: “I don’t need your Jesus”. A week later, she was found dead in her apartment.

Bon Scott (Singer): The ex-vocalist of the AC/DC. On one of his 1979 songs he sang: “Don’t stop me, I’m going down all the way, down the highway to hell”. On the 19th of February 1980, Bon Scott was found dead, he had been choked by his own vomit.

In Campinas, Brazil (2005): A group of friends, drunk, went to pick up a young girl, a friend of the group. The mother accompanied her to the car and was so worried about the drunkenness of her friends that she said to the daughter, who was already seated in the car: ”My Daughter, Go With God And May He Protect You.” The daughter responded: “Only if He (God) travels in the trunk, cause inside here… it’s already full!” Hours later, news came that they had been involved in a fatal accident. Everyone had died and the car could not be recognized as to what type of car it had been, but surprisingly, the trunk was intact. The police said there was no way the trunk could have remained intact. To their surprise, inside the trunk was a crate of eggs, none were broken.

Christine Hewitt (Jamaican Journalist and entertainer): Said the Bible (Word of God) was the worst book ever written. In June 2006 she was found burnt beyond recognition in her motor vehicle.

Many other important people have forgotten that there is no other name that was given so much authority as the name of Jesus.
