Christina grew up in Companashi in Oranjestad, on the beautiful island of Aruba. A breezy, sunny island with beautiful beaches, historic landmarks such as the Indian caves, the gold mines, rare rock formations, and wonderful warm friendly people.

She is studying for a BSc, with a major in Tourism; her ambition is to become a Public Relations Ambassador for Aruba.

One of Christina's working experiences was distributing flyers on roller blades for the carnival parade, very challenging but funny!

Hobbies and sporting interests are: Swimming; Tang So Doo (a Korean martial art) arts & crafts; singing; she enjoys Latin/Caribbean rhythm; modern dance, and folklore.

Favourite food is seafood, especially garlic shrimps.

Personal motto is "Face the past without regrets, live the present with confidence and prepare for the future without fear".


Miss Tinnyse Johnson, Miss Bahamas World 2008

Languages: English

Tinnyse grew up in Nassau. The Bahamas are made up of 700 islands and cays and has the worlds 3rd longest barrier reef, so it's a divers haven.

Tinnyse is a student with an Associates Degree, and currently in pursuit of a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. Her ambition is to own a conglomerate of business geared towards motivational products and services.

Sports and leisure interests are: swimming; running; kayaking; Pilates; reading; listening to music; singing; interpretive dance; she is a gourmet cook (speciality - pastries); and is also learning Spanish. Favourite food is the local speciality of Tamarind Sauce.

Having had quite a few jobs from jewellery sales rep to real estate agent, Tinnyse has had the opportunity to meet a number of interesting people.

Personal motto is "Time doesn't linger nor does it yield for anyone. Tomorrow isn't guaranteed and yesterday is gone, so all we have is today. We should use it wisely and live each day as if it was our last".

Languages: English and Basic Spanish

Natalie was born in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada; resided for a short time in New York, Toronto and then moved to Checker Hall, a small northern community in St Lucy, Barbados.

Entering University at the age of 16 to pursue a Bachelor's in Psychology with Management, her aim is to achieve her Master's in International Business before the age of 23. Future ambition is to own her own company working in the field of Marketing with specialization in Branding and Public Relations.

Sporting and leisure interests are: singing, playing piano and basic recorder, swimming, she also enjoys looking after her 3 small dogs named: Blackface, Lucky and Pooberts. Natalie has had many summer jobs, but the most unusual job was when she worked for her dad as a secretary, this taught her the importance of separating business from her personal life.

Personal motto is "Believe and you can achieve".


Miss Nicosia Lawson, Miss Cayman 2008

Nicosia Lawson, representing the district of George Town, was crowned Miss Cayman 2008 in front of a packed audience at the Lions Centre.

Nicosia, 25, was sponsored by the Cayman Islands Development Bank.

First runner–up in the contest was Danielle Ebanks, sponsored by Island Styles Car Rental Ltd. Second runner–up was Rachel King, sponsored by Kirk Freeport Ltd.
Nicosia will now represent Cayman Islands at Miss World 2008 and Miss Universe 2009.

Miss Norayla Maria FRANCISCO

Norayla grew up on the beautiful Caribbean island of Curacao, which is part of the Dutch Antilles.

Its main city is split in two: Otrabanda and Pinda, they are joined by a unique bridge known as the "Swinging Lady".

Norayla is a co-ordinator of the university student committee, on completion of education she would like to work in the field of Market Economy.

The most interesting/unusual job she has done was selling fish at a market stall.

Guess what - her favourite food is fish!.

In her leisure time she enjoys: reading romantic novels; volleyball; and dancing the meringue.

Norayla's motto is "Be a good person".

Geisha grew up in Santa Domingo, a country of beautiful beaches, a place where the music and culture are deeply engraved in all the warm and friendly people.

Geisha studied: graphic design, public relations, photography and social communication, and is now a student of journalism and broadcasting.

It is her ambition to work in the Art & Entertainment industry.

Leisure interests are: acting; typical dance; reading the daily news with her father every morning.

Favourite food is light chicken wraps, but her greatest temptation are the deserts!

Favourite motto is "At the end of the game, Kings and Pawns all go back in the same box".


Miss Frédérika Charpentier, Miss Guadeloupe World 2008

Languages: French, Creole & a little English

Federika was born in France, moved to Martinique, and finally settled in Guadeloupe.

She studied Nautical Navigation and graduated as a Merchant Marine Captain and is currently working on the sailing boats.

Sporting and leisure interests are: Sailing; underwater swimming; travel; drawing; reading; fashion; and listening to Jazz, blues and classical music.

Favourite food is seafood.

Her motto is "Persist to acquire".


Miss Brittany Lyons, Miss Jamaica World 2008

Brittany Lyons, 19, was crowned Miss World 2008 in Kingston, Jamaica. The first finalist is Jade Grant and the second finalist is Marshagay Reynolds. Lyons will be the representative of Jamaica at Miss World 2008 contest.

Miss World 2008, the 58th Miss World beauty pageant, will be held on December 12 at the Sandton Convention Centre in Joannesburg, South Africa.

Miss Elodie Delor, Miss Mundo Martinique 2008

The 18 year-old Elodie Delor of Port de France was crowned as the new Miss Martinique World 2008. Elodie stands 182cm. tall and she will represent Martinique in the upcoming Miss World 2008 Beauty Pageant on December 12 this year at Johannesburg, South Africa.

Elodie first competed at the Miss Earth 2007 Beauty Contest held in Manila Philippines where she landed as one of the top 16 quarter finalists.

Ivonne was born and grew up in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, a tropical island in the Caribbean. Puerto Rico is the ideal place to enjoy good Latin music and food, rich in culture and history it is recognised as ‘The Island of Enchantment'.

She is a university student with career ambitions to develop in the communications field and to break with the paradigms in this field, for example, in sports. She also hopes to become an actress. So far she has participated in a soap opera series called ‘Decisiones'. A special day in her life was on her 18th birthday, she had responsibility with the track and field team and won medals for all her events, thanks to this she has had many offers and scholarships for college.

Interests are dance, salsa, meringue, bamba and bachata, acting, track & field, volleyball, basketball, badminton, swimming, painting, rhetoric, reading and all kinds of music. Favourite food is pizza and Puerto Rican food.

Joyann was born in Castries, the capital city of the island of St Lucia.

This small but striking Caribbean island can boast of: a world heritage site, the majestic twin peaks called Pitons, and the world's only drive-in volcano.

Joyann is currently working in the sales and service sector of the Tourism industry, her long term goal is to have her own business in the Tourism and Entertainment field.

Leisure interests are: Listening to R&B and Calypso; singing and performing; dancing; and she loves to read thrillers as it gives her a sense of ‘life on the edge'.

Joyann does not have a favourite food, but is curious about foods from all culinary backgrounds.

Her motto is "No one can do everything, but everyone can do something".

Miss Gabrielle WALCOTT

Languages: English

Gabrielle comes from the Caribbean island of Trinidad, with its amazing turquoise waters, white sandy beaches, colourful tropical flowers and exotic birds.

Her dream is to become an actress; she has always loved the arts and has her first degree in Visual and Theatre Arts from the University of the West Indies.

After achieving this she took a gap year to help finance her move to the Big Apple, she then moved to New York to do post graduate studies in Acting and Theatre Arts, a friend and mentor once told her that ‘the first degree is for your parents and the second degree for yourself', she is very proud to have been able to support herself and follow her heart!

Gabrielle is currently also one of Trinidad & Tobago's Youth Ambassadors for the UN.

Sports & leisure interests include: equestrian show jumping; yoga; pilates; dance; fashion design/sewing; art; photography; theatre; piano; ballroom & Latin dance; swimming; First Aid (CPR/Life guard training); and has just starting to learn Spanish.

She has a deep appreciation for Trinidad's local cuisine: from roti, to shark and bake, to crab and dumplings, to name a few.

Her motto is "Do unto others, as you would have them do unto you".
